Feeling overstimulated, and overwhelmed in noisy environments?

The Safe and Sound Protocol

✔ Improve focus and attention

If you have tried everything counselling and therapy has to offer, and nothing has worked, it could be because your nervous system is stuck in either in a fight/flight, or freeze/shutdown response.
The Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) is designed to help your body shift out of these stuck survival states and orient towards healing. Learn more here

What is it?

Developed by neuroscientist Dr. Stephen Porges, the SSP is a research-based listening therapy designed to calm the nervous system and allow it to detect feelings of safety. Based on Dr. Porges’ Polyvagal Theory, the SSP produces a calming effect on our brain and body. This opens space for improved healing, communication and social ease.  Click here to learn more about the SSP.

How does it work?

The SSP is a gentle approach that helps calm and re-tune the nervous system over a prescribed programme of 5 hours of listening, spaced according to what your unique brain and body needs.  The SSP involves listening to specially filtered music through headphones alongside a provider, in-person or remotely.

Who is it for?

Suitable for children 2 years+, young people and adults who may have:

What can I expect?

Depending on the package or stream that is right for you, assessment begins with an intake assessment, and targeted pre-protocol measures. We then decide upon when, where and how long to listen for. Changes in the targeted symptoms are often noticed immediately, but many times unfold gradually over the following months of listening, as your nervous system organises and integrates the new information.

The SSP is not designed to be permanent, or a stand-alone therapy, rather, the experience clears space for living life in a more regulated, resilient state, so that other therapies are more effective and efficient. Some listeners with more complex difficulties have found that repeating the 'Core' program within a couple of months to be most effective. Repeat listeners of the 'Core' program can do so here at a discounted rate.
